Harpenden Racqueteers Badminton Club plays at Harpenden Leisure Centre in Harpenden. We are affiliated to Badminton England.

Club nights are Wednesday evenings between 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm and we operate separate summer and winter seasons.  Generally we have five courts throughout the year, but use two for home matches during the winter season.

Visitors are welcome to attend by prior arrangement up to six club sessions during which membership will be offered by one of the committee members to players of a suitable standard.  We have appointed a fully trained Club Welfare Officer checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service and registered with Badminton England.

Juniors

We welcome junior members over 14 years old provided that they can play to a similar standard.   Juniors and those in full-time education pay half the normal fees.

Teams

We have approximately 35 members, both ladies and men, and enter teams in the Southwest Hertfordshire Badminton League: Mens 6 and 4; Ladies 4; and Mixed 6. We play with feather shuttlecocks (AS30s).

Cost

Fees for the winter 2025/26 season (September to April) are £280 including £20 to cover individual membership of Badminton England and Hertfordshire Badminton Association. Visitor fees are £10.  Junior members and junior visitors pay half these amounts.  Fees for the 2026 summer club have not been set yet, but last year were £110 (May to August inclusive).
